Golly!
It’s hard to believe it is august ALREADY. Not that long ago we were ushering in the beginning of summer, and now it’s half over. Autumn isn’t too far away. We are still in peak flower mode here at the nursery. Our annual cutting garden flowers from earth care farms are beautiful and more are arriving weekly. Soon our fall veggies and winter flower starts will be ready for planting in the garden. We still have a few pumpkin starts if you haven’t gotten the patch planted! There is plenty of basil for fall, too.

The crape myrtles are blooming gloriously. Now is the best time to select your favorite color. These beauties are so easy they barely skip a beat when planted-even in summer heat. Just watch their water and they should be fine. Remember, while you can reach them, if you dead head the flowers you can get three waves of bloom out of them. Crape myrtle autumn leaf color is also very beautiful. We’ve just been reminded that heavy watering and any fertilizing of crape M’s in summer can SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASE THEIR winter hardiness. Once established crape m’s are very drought tolerant needing water only deeply every 2 weeks.

Our interior DÉCOR crew is off to the Las Vegas market show this month and promise us new and exciting things for fall and the holidays. We can hardly wait to see what they will bring back! Come in and see us when you get a chance. there is almost always something new to see. Our new BRETSTERS’ deco iron line produces something new almost weekly, and we have had a great time seeing all of their unique offerings. Check out the giant kinetic dragonfly.

Currently we are stocked up on numerous summer fruits, herbs and veggies, but soon we will be starting seeds for winter vegetables and winter color. We are having a great time trying all of these new and exciting annuals and vegetables and hope you will enjoy them too.
Summer is the perfect time to relax in the garden and enjoy the sound of your water fountain or feature. We have a nice collection of Grecian pottery that make awesome water fountains. Let us show you how easy it can be. We have quite a collection of Vietnamese, asian, & African Pottery also. Many of them work as fountain pots as well.
